Come and Learn About Meals on Wheels

What did you have for dinner last night? Enjoying a home cooked meal at the end of the day can be satisfying. But what if you were unable to prepare that meal? Many seniors and Halifax residents who are unable to prepare a meal face this uncertainly every day. That’s where we come in and we hope you’ll join us. Halifax Meals on Wheels relies solely on volunteers to get food onto our clients' tables. Though our volunteers don’t just deliver meals, they also deliver a smile and personal connection to our clients. To support this important community outreach, we are recruiting new volunteers.

You do not have to have a car or even be able to drive. Our volunteers are sent out on deliveries in pairs, with one driver and one helper. Deliveries are typically made from 11:00am–1:00pm, Monday to Friday, including most holidays. Volunteers can take on as many or as few shifts as they are able. Even two hours a week can make a huge difference in the lives of our clients. Just click on the image below to learn more about Halifax Meals on Wheels.
